Kass-Haff is a biodynamic educational farm whose mission is to encourage people to sustainable agriculture, a different relationship with the land, nature, animals and our food.
The farm welcomes groups for educational visits throughout the year (approx. 350 groups/year), as well as the general public, who can visit this mini-village every day of the week. Families can leisurely stroll, observe and pet the animals, learn about farm and horticultural practices, and purchase organic food produced on-site.
Since 2013, Kass-Haff has occupied an idyllic hillside location near Rollingen, managing 100 hectares: 25 hectares are dedicated to crops, and 75 consist of meadows, including 25 transformed into biotopes. In addition to agricultural production, the farm also includes a Biog cheese dairy, on-farm sales through a Naturata store, a Waldorf school kindergarten, and a space for cultural activities (yoga, dance, psychomotor workshops) that operate in complete synergy. Two beekeepers have been able to install bee colonies on the site, benefiting from its rich biodiversity.
Kass-Haff operates on the model of communities - as found throughout Europe today - that support local agriculture. However, instead of limiting this trusted partnership between consumers and the farm to a small group of people, Kass-Haff's intention is to expand it. The goal is to create a large community of individuals who are invested in what is being done here, starting with children who will "care for" the Earth tomorrow.
Indeed, Tom and Anja (the two co-founders) want "children to have a connection with the land and reality again." However, they have no intention of offering teachers or parents pre-packaged and rehearsed formulas. "Our primary goal is to welcome each child and see them leave here happy. Even if they only stay for three hours, they have changed a little bit."
