For Sainte-Sophie, becoming a member of IMS is fully in line with its commitment to diversity and sustainable development. As a school, we take our educational role in these areas seriously.

As an educational establishment, we implement actions in favour of diversity and sustainable development for our employees as well as for our 800 students. Through our educational initiatives with pupils, we also indirectly reach their parents.

Sainte-Sophie is committed to diversity:
- We have signed the Diversity Charter.
- We take care to ensure the well-being of our employees: we provide a rest room and a friendly work room.
- Our students from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds work on joint educational projects to help them understand each other.
- Our pupils have prepared Christmas Boxes for children from refugee families.
- Our school initiates a number of charity actions in aid of the Toutes à l'école association (Christmas market, rice bowl, etc.).
Sainte-Sophie is committed to sustainable development:
- We reduce our household waste by providing water fountains and glass, metal and ceramic crockery.
- Our students are committed to the planet through an eco-committee made up of student delegates from each secondary class and supervised by 2 teachers.
- At the instigation of the eco-committee, we have set up a waste sorting system.
- We use recycled photocopy paper and toilet paper.
- We help to reduce the environmental impact of our pupils by providing free school shuttles for parents.
- Our pupils are involved in a number of environmental projects, including vegetable gardening and aquariums highlighting different biotopes. They are currently working on a project to enrich the biodiversity of our school site.
