Dechert’s motivations to participate in IMS Luxembourg’s activities:
We are keen to expand our opportunities to deliver free legal advice to individuals and community organisations based in Luxembourg.
Dechert’s CSR policy:
As a law firm our approach to CSR is focused on the delivery of free legal advice to vulnerable individuals, not for profit organisations and social enterprises. Dechert (www.dechert.com) is a global law firm with 22 offices in 11 countries, including Luxembourg. as you can see in the attached link, Dechert has a longstanding and significant commitment to pro bono work (www.dechert.com/pro_bono) We require all lawyers to perform at least 25 hours pro bono work per year to ensure universal participation in our pro bono program, and we have a dedicated partner focused full time on managing our pro bono efforts.
Dechert’s CSR actions and frameworks:
At any given time, the firm has over 1500 active pro bono matters in a broad range of practice areas, including civil rights, international human rights, domestic violence, special education, access tu public benefits, immigration, criminal law and the representation of non-profits, small businesses and social enterprises. In 2020 we gave over 114,000 hours of pro bono legal advice. Our program was recently ranked #1 by the American Lawyer for international pro bono.
