The 1st edition of the Sustainability Awards took place on 25 October 2022 and rewarded organisations (private, public and associative in Luxembourg) that implement the best sustainable development practices. The four winners were rewarded during an evening in the presence of jury and pre-jury members and more than 150 participants.
IMS Vice President Julien Demoulin called out all organisations encouraging them to draw from the good practices presented. He emphasized the importance to move quickly to address climate urgency and the various challenges of our society.
To represent each award, Jacques Schneider, a Luxembourg artist, proposed a series of illustrations for each category, inspired by the categories: People, Planet, Prosperity and Sustainability Team.
The Sustainability Awards: an initiative of IMS Luxembourg and Paperjam + Delano Club
IMS Luxembourg and Paperjam + Delano Club have combined their skills and expertise. IMS Luxembourg coordinated the whole process, the respect of the specifications, the selection criteria and the organisation of the Jury sessions. Paperjam + Delano Club organised the communication and the award ceremony.
The objective is to highlight inspiring sustainable development practices from which each organisation can draw inspiration to contribute to the collective effort to face the climate and social challenges.
Participation was free of charge and open to any organisation based in Luxembourg, whether or not it is a member of IMS or the Paperjam + Delano Club, regardless of its size, status - private, public or associative - and sector of activity.
Promising involvement of organisations
This first edition showed the commitment of organisations: 60 entries were received from organisations of all sizes, sectors, and types. The criteria selected for the categories are the degree of implementation, impact, innovative and replicable approach, and how the practice is managed and integrated into a long-term strategy.
On 12 July 2022, the pre-jury, composed of 20 independent experts, designated the nominees for each category. The final jury, consisting of multi-stakeholder representatives, selected the winners of the four categories on 27 September 2022.
