From May 4 to 17, fair trade will once again be in the spotlight in Luxembourg during the "Fairtrade Weeks". More than ever, this annual event aims to be a collective celebration that highlights producers, workers, and all those involved in Fairtrade supply chains, as well as committed stakeholders.
How can you take part in a concrete way?
For example, treat your loved ones to a new recipe made with Fairtrade ingredients, drink Fairtrade coffee at home and at work, eat a Fairtrade banana before exercising, ask your company restaurant to offermore Fairtrade products, communicate about your commitments both privately and professionally, set up a Fairtrade exhibition in your school, invite municipal employees to a Fair Breakfast, organize a Fairtrade workshop in your company, host a Fairtrade stand with tastings, and more.
Because together we go further, share the campaign on your social media (on Instagram using #SemainesFairtrade2026), comment, and interact with our posts.
The team at the NGO Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg will be happy to support you in implementing your initiatives.
By taking part, everyone becomes an active contributor to a strong collective commitment!
Why take part?
In a context of multiple, interconnected crises, one question arises: are we going to let producers in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean face these challenges alone?
Are we ready to give up coffee, chocolate, or bananas if agricultural supply chains are not strengthened and secured?
Fair trade is more necessary and relevant than ever to put people and the planet back at the heart of our globalized system and to ensure respect for human and environmental rights in supply chains.
However, it is our collective mobilization that is the driving force behind fair trade in Luxembourg.
Thanks to all of us, the market for Fairtrade-certified products sold in Luxembourg grew by more than 10% in 2024. This means that, at our level, we are helping to improve the living and working conditions of 2 million producers and workers worldwide.
In 2023, at the global level, more than €211 million in Fairtrade premiums were paid, in addition to fairer sales prices. This money enabled Fairtrade-certified organizations to fund community projects of theirchoice (direct financial support to members, investments to strengthen and diversify crops, construction of schools and other infrastructure, etc.).
Everyone can help make trade fairer and more humane!
