What if the professional inclusion of people with autism were an opportunity to rethink your practices and enrich your teams?
The Fondation Autisme Luxembourg (FAL) launched a project dedicated to the professional integration of people with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and in particular Asperger's profiles. These people often come up against obstacles linked to social adaptation and the implicit rules of the professional world, despite their remarkable skills:
- Attention to detail and concentration on tasks;
- Strong logical and analytical skills;
- Loyalty and consistency in task completion;
- Unique approaches to problem solving;
- Intense passion or expertise in specific fields.
This project aims to enable them to:
- Discover their specific skills and needs;
- Prepare for the realities of the work environment;
- Understand expectations, explicit and implicit rules, as well as their rights and duties within the company;
- Develop social skills essential for communication and managing professional interactions;
- Acquire tools better to manage stress, time and organisation at work.
Inclusive and structured collaboration
To provide an initial immersion in a company, FAL offers tailored volunteer contracts, varying in length from a few weeks to several months, depending on the profile and availability of the company. Each mission involves :
- A defined framework between the company and the volunteer (model provided);
- The appointment of a contact person within your company;
- Prior awareness-raising of your team by FAL;
- Ongoing monitoring of the volunteer throughout the experience.
This collaboration is a concrete opportunity to promote an inclusive culture, make the most of sometimes underestimated talents, and enrich internal dynamics. The FAL team remains at your disposal to discuss together how to implement this project within your structure: autisme@fal.lu
