Launched in 2022 by Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy and the Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Interest Group Terra Matters aims to promote and democratize the use of the Product Circularity Data Sheet (PCDS) and achieve its widespread adoption internationally.
The PCDS is a standardized circularity dataset initiative, providing the first globally recognized data format for circularity. Each product will have an internationally accepted dataset detailing its circular properties and including an auditable international industry standard (ISO norm 59040, final voting stage).
The PCDS enables sharing a product's circularity attributes and offers information on its circular design and manufacturing process. With 130 statements, it covers the entire lifecycle of a product, from materials input, repairability to end-of-life benefits.
Terra Matters has recently launched its beta platform, allowing users to easily create and share PCDS in a secure and verified environment. Test the platform and create your first PCDS with full guidance from Terra Matters, free of charge, here. This involves a 1.5-hour reflection process on the circularity attributes of one of your products, resulting in a PCDS that can be shared with your stakeholders.
