In Luxembourg, it is now or never.

Between June 2023 and June 2024, three elections will take place in our country (local, national and European). The next mandate holders will have a heavy responsibility because to hope to change the trajectory in a number of areas, this will be the last chance. The actions that our mandate holders will undertake at communal, national and European levels will be decisive for Luxembourg's position in the great effort that humanity will make to keep this planet habitable.

"In the crucial moment that this election year represents, the High Council for Sustainable Development launches a solemn appeal to the whole of Luxembourg society to put pressure on politics and to the parties to take their responsibilities to alleviate the climate, environmental and societal emergency. It is imperative that politics finally takes the measure of the changes taking place and implements concrete instruments to meet these challenges at the level of climate, biodiversity and societal inclusion. 

What is the objective of the Manifesto? 
Through the "One Planet Luxembourg" initiative, the CSDD wishes to create a network of common interests around sustainable development challenges and to federate the community of those who believe that the time has come for politics to act concretely to meet these challenges.

The Manifesto is the synthesis of the message that the CSDD proposes to all to convince politicians to take concrete action during the next electoral mandate so that the parties that will form a coalition take into account the demands and themes of the Manifesto in their governmental programme.

Signing this Manifesto is, therefore, a form of commitment to contribute to the strength and spread of this message.

Who can sign the Manifesto?
Every individual and every organisation is free to sign the Manifesto. They will demonstrate their importance to the challenges of sustainable development in Luxembourg through their signature. For a legal person (organisation): the signatory of the Manifesto must be a person who is the legal representative of his organisation or who has the power to sign on behalf of the organisation to which he belongs and to commit it.
