Rediscovering another way of getting around our towns and at the same time taking care of our environment, and our health are the objectives of the TOUR DUERF, through a competition between cycling teams and municipalities. From 10 September onwards, for the ninth consecutive year, the aim will be to travel by bicycle and collect as many kilometres as possible.
All residents, companies, schools, associations and especially members of the local council are invited to participate. As local decision-makers, they will discover the actual cycling situation in their community and can contribute to improving it. During the three weeks of the campaign, teams will be formed at the local/regional level. Each participant will record the kilometres travelled in the database at www.tourduduerf.eu or the corresponding app.
How do I know if my municipality/region is participating in the DUERF TOUR?
All participating communities & regions (over 70!) are listed on www.tourduduerf.eu. Creating teams and participating is possible for the inhabitants of these communities/areas and for all those who work, go to school or are members of an association/club there.
How can you participate?
On www.tourduduerf.eu, creating a new team or joining an existing one is easy. After that, you must pedal as much as possible for three weeks and record the kilometres you ride!
What else do you need to know?
The TOUR DUERF website is available in FR (tourduduerf.eu), DE (tourduduerf.lu) and also in EN (tourduduerf.org). In addition, a smartphone application allows you to register the kilometres cycled directly.
Who will be the winners?
Climate and quality of life will again be the big winners of the TOUR DUERF! The municipalities will reward the most active teams at the local level. The organisers, the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works and Klima-Bündnis Lëtzebuerg, will honour the most active municipalities. More information and registration at www.tourduduerf.eu!
