Every morning, 250,000 empty car seats enter the city of Luxembourg. This contributes to significant congestion on the roads, but above all, to air pollution due to the CO2 emissions caused by these cars. Carpooling is one of the solutions for more sustainable mobility by increasing vehicle occupancy. In 2018, the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works decided to set up a tool to facilitate contact between drivers and passengers: the "CoPilote" carpooling platform. Following the takeover of the company Ecolutis, holder of the carpooling market in the Great Duchy, by the company Klaxit in July 2019, the CoPilote services now integrate the Klaxit application.
