On Thursday, 1 December 2022, the College of Mayors and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg awarded the Anne Beffort 2022 Prize to the organisation "IMS - Inspiring More Sustainability", represented by Mrs Nancy Thomas, Director, during a ceremony held at the City Hall, in the presence of the members of the Equal Opportunities Commission.
By awarding the Anne Beffort 2022 Prize to "IMS - Inspiring More Sustainability", an independent, non-political and non-profit organisation, the College of Aldermen wishes to honour the efforts of the organisation in favour of equal treatment between women and men and the LGBTIQ+ community, which, among many other fields of action, have enabled it to become a reference player in the area of corporate social responsibility at the national level over the years. Thanks to its collaborative approach, IMS initiates pragmatic, practical and sustainable solutions to our society's concrete and real problems and gives companies and institutions the necessary tools to develop projects with a positive social impact, which are part of an organisational approach to social responsibility.
Since 2003, the College of Burgomasters and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg, on the initiative of the Consultative Commission for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men, has awarded the annual Anne Beffort Prize, named after the co-founder of the Lycée de Jeunes Filles in Luxembourg and the first woman teacher in the Grand Duchy. The prize, endowed with €3,000, is awarded to an individual, a non-profit association, a group or an institution working to promote equal opportunities between men and women in the territory of the City.
