During the United Nations Ocean Conference in June 2022, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay urged the international community to strengthen and accelerate its efforts to better understand and protect the oceans.
As part of the "The Ocean is coming to Luxembourg" event, we will highlight the importance of marine ecosystems for the planet's ecological balance and humanity. We will discuss the threats to marine biodiversity, such as overfishing, pollution, and climate change, as well as the measures to combat them. Oceans are a vital source of food and resources, but their sustainability and management are major issues.
Investments in sustainable projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are necessary to promote a responsible blue economy. We will present solutions for a sustainable blue economy, such as blue pharma, responsible blue tourism, decarbonisation of maritime transport, and investments in marine renewable energies.
Join us to learn more about the challenges and solutions for protecting and preserving our oceans and the importance of funding sustainable projects for a responsible blue economy.
