Sustainable Procurement Club #5: Intellectual services and CSR commitments

Intellectual services and CSR commitments

An intellectual service is a purchased service, but often the only representations of environmental impacts are limited to the sorting of office paper or the train choice for travel. However, like any company, consultancy firms have real impacts through their choices. Consequently, questions arise when buyers have to imagine CSR clauses in invitations to tender or requests for quotations for intellectual services: What can we ask of a consulting firm when it comes to CSR commitments? Or how can one understand the environmental and social impacts of an intellectual service?
