Public presentations: the new National Mobility Plan 2035

Published on 25 April 2022

After the launch of the multimodal strategy Modu 2.0 on 05/2018 and the successful introduction of free public transport in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on 03/2020, François Bausch, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Mobility and Public Works, presents the NMP 2035 - National Mobility Plan at an international press conference on Friday 22 April 2022.

The innovative NMP 2035 - National Mobility Plan proposes a global concept capable of managing 40% more travel than in 2017. It implements the approaches advocated by the sustainable mobility strategy Modu 2.0, namely:

  • moving from a logic of catching up to a logic of anticipating future mobility demand;
  • to determine first the number of people who will need to travel to a given place and then to strengthen the modes of transport best suited to the context;
  • and finally, to mobilise the four players in mobility, i.e. the State, the municipalities, the employers and the citizens.

François Bausch, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Mobility and Public Works, also presents the NIP 2035 to the public in 10 public meetings.
