Social Entrepreneurship Challenge 2021 by Impact Wombats

Published on 23 February 2021

In the face of pressing global challenges - such as the climate crisis, poverty, and social injustice - the younger generation's role is becoming increasingly vital. The team of Impact Wombats*, a Luxembourg-based youth movement created by passionate young people, expresses a vision for the future and takes a step towards building tomorrow's world.

With the support of IMS Luxembourg, the Impact Wombats team organises a Social Entrepreneurship Challenge from April 19 to 23, 2021 (held online).

To tackle global issues, we need fundamental changes in the business paradigm. Therefore, social entrepreneurship is given a central place in this initiative.

In a digital and interactive environment and an extremely dynamic "boot camp" style, teams of participating students will be introduced to the foundations of social entrepreneurship and challenged to solve the world's most pressing problems by developing a business idea. Along the way, the teams will be supported by mentors - seasoned entrepreneurs from the local community. The teams will make final presentations live on Friday, April 23, for a jury of entrepreneurship experts.

Impact Wombats is calling on young people in Luxembourg who want to make a positive change - let's unite to save the world! Here's how to do it:

  • Make a team of 4 to 6 people.
  • Register your team on www.ImpactWombats.com by March 18 at the latest.
  • Get ready to have fun! You will receive detailed instructions before the challenge begins.

Participation is possible for any secondary school student in Luxembourg (15 to 19 years old) and is (of course!) free of charge. You will be able to present your idea to the jury in the language of your choice (EN, FR or DE) - please specify your preference when registering.

The digital format of the challenge is very flexible and does not interrupt your school program. While teams can expect to spend between 1.5 and 2 hours per day on the challenge, you are free to choose when and how you will do your collaborative work.
