Around thirty companies gathered to find solutions to reach Zero Single-Use Plastic

A first round of the Zero Single-Use Plastic focus group’s workshops ended this week. These took place at the ABBL, at AXA and at the Stock Exchange and brought together 113 participants from 31 companies such as Alter Domus, the SuperDrecksKëscht, the European Investment Bank, Sodexo, BGL, Felten & Associés and PwC. These collaborative lunches, that were launched as a result of the Zero Single-Use Plastic manifesto, focused on the issue of eliminating and replacing the products when it comes to office automation, catering and events. The aim of these workshops was to spot and analyse good practices and to pinpoint the suppliers who are concerned by the subject.

Thanks to the efforts that were made, several solutions have been identified and the most complex points that remained unsolved will be subject to further study during the project. Engaging with the identified suppliers to move up the chain and create solutions upstream is now the priority.

The topic of single-use plastics will also be in the spotlight at the Luxembourg Sustainability Forum 2019 on 25 April! The program will be unveiled later, so stay tuned not to miss any information.

The Zero Single-Use Plastic project is supported by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development.
